Jukin Media
Turning user-generated video into a global media business
Jukin Media, founded in 2009 in Los Angeles, is a digital-media company that specializes in discovering, acquiring, monetizing, and distributing user-generated content. At its peak the network reached more than 75 million followers and over 2.7 billion monthly views, backed by a library of tens of thousands of curated videos.
Built for independent creators
Jukin represents more than 50,000 independent video creators, helping amateur footage find a home in advertising, in film and TV, and across the biggest social accounts and websites — giving creators a way to share and monetize work that would otherwise never reach a commercial audience.
The most comprehensive library of UGC
The company assembled one of the largest libraries of user-generated video anywhere, curated and priced using proprietary algorithms so that highly engaging, authentic footage could be licensed quickly and affordably — a modern alternative to dated, generic stock video.
My role as founder and CTO was to build the technology and cloud infrastructure underneath all of it: the ingestion, rights-management, and distribution systems that let a viral clip become a licensable, scalable media asset.
