About Jukin Media

Jukin Media, founded in 2009 in Los Angeles, California, is a digital media company that specializes in discovering, acquiring, monetizing, and distributing user-generated content. Their mission is to expand the reach of user-generated video content while providing incentives to creators. Jukin has become the worldwide leader in this area, with popular web entertainment brands such as FailArmy, People Are Awesome, The Pet Collective, and JukinVideo that have a combined following of over 75 million on social media and YouTube. Their video network and brands generate over 2.7 billion monthly views online, making them one of the most widely viewed digital media companies globally.

Jukin Media’s library of user-generated viral video footage is the most comprehensive in the world, featuring more than 40,000 hand-selected videos that are cleared and available for licensing. This library is frequently browsed by brands, digital publishers, TV producers, and creative agencies looking to license videos for their productions. Jukin also produces original content for linear TV, OTT/streaming, and the web. Their original series, including FailArmy, Now That’s Funny!, Fail Five, Awesome Pet Thoughts, and Happy Trailer Fun Time, have a global audience.

Jukin Media’s approach to discovering, monetizing, and distributing user-generated video content has been successful, leading to investments from notable entities such as Samsung Ventures, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, Maker Studios, Peter Guber, and Launchpad LA. The company has received several rounds of funding, totaling $4.2 million between 2013 and 2015.

Jukin has established partnerships with other digital media companies, including Maker Studios, BroadbandTV, and Fullscreen, providing their roster of influencers and YouTubers exclusive discounts to Jukin’s library, dedicated customer support, and early access to new features.

In October 2018, Sinclair Broadcast Group assumed operational responsibilities for TBD, Jukin’s programming lineup, through an agreement with Jukin. The same year, Jukin also partnered with Maker Studios, resulting in the launch of a dedicated website for FailArmy. Jukin paid more than $15 million to viral video creators in August 2017.
